The DRSO is thrilled to announce that Megan Jones Reeves has been selected as the orchestra\u2019s new Music Director and will take over the position for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Megan\u2019s selection marks the end of a season-long process to find a replacement for Peter Morris who is retiring after leading the DRSO for 32 years. Kudos to the two other candidates, Brandon Wilkie and Joshua Wood, who each delivered excellent performances as our audiences can attest. This decision wasn\u2019t simple and was made after carefully weighing all the feedback we received throughout the season from our DRSO members and from the candidates themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thank you for your dedication and support to the DRSO and all that it represents, and we hope you will join us in ushering in this new chapter of providing our audiences with the amazing experience of live music, and all the riches that it brings to our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DRSO is your community orchestra with 40 local musicians ranging in age from high school students to seniors. In fact, 25% of our orchestra is made up of students. The benefits they receive from playing in an orchestra are many. It is truly a unique opportunity for young musicians to play in a symphony orchestra. At the DRSO, our goal is to play great orchestral music within an educational, supportive and inclusive setting.
